OCIC has contracted with Family Bridges to provide a number of services for our business district to create a safe and welcoming environment. Family Bridges will be working to enhance relationships between the neighborhood’s merchants, workers and residents. They will work to mitigate and de-escalate tense situations, provide bystander assistance, and increase awareness by reporting incidents of hate and crime. They will be addressing issues of cleanliness through a program of power washing and graffiti abatement, as well as garbage removal which is not addressed by the city’s waste management.

As an organization, Family Bridges has been part of Oakland Chinatown for more than five decades. Family Bridges offers a broad range of services to support the Asian community.
